Team Leader - Development and Infrastructure Contributions
A newly created role to lead development and infrastructure contributions planning to meet the needs of our growing city
$127,641 + 9.5% Superannuation
Temporary up until January 2023

How this position will Make the Difference to City of Melbourne…
Reporting into the Practice Leader, Strategic Planning Policy Implementation, you will be responsible to establish and progress Councils future infrastructure planning and funding program. This will include undertaking economic and financial modelling, and realising development contributions to support delivery of needed community infrastructure and capital works across the municipality.
In addition, you will establish a Development Contributions Plan (DCPs) Program for the City of Melbourne to implement the strategic plans of the organisation and support liveability while the city grows significantly. This includes leading a team to undertake the necessary analysis to establish DCPs/ICPs in the municipality, and establish a best practice approach and process, in accordance with legislation, to facilitate community benefit outcomes.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in a similar type of role, having worked collaboratively across multiple teams on complex projects. You will possess strong project management, analytical and communication skills.

Ability to demonstrate and display City of Melbourne Values – accountability, integrity, courage, respect for self and others, and striving for excellence

A tertiary qualification in urban planning, land use economics or a relevant profession

Experience across a mix of strategic and social planning, land use economics and financial modelling, development contributions, infrastructure planning roles

Demonstrated ability to lead, develop and motivate a multidisciplinary team

Demonstrated understanding of strategies to enable and manage future growth and urban renewal, and of the relationship between strategic urban planning, economic development

Demonstrated ability to analyse, think and plan strategically, manage complex projects and tasks, and to implement projects on time and to budget.
Desirable

Experience in developing and administering Development Contributions Plans.
