The Team Leader Digital Communications Channel Delivery is a member of the Digital Communications team, reporting directly to the Head, Digital Marketing Projects. The primary focus of the role is to manage delivery of innovative and compelling digital content and platforms, to support key marketing and communications campaigns, online and Council and City of Melbourne initiatives. The role manages a small multi-disciplinary team of six who provide digital communications advice and maintain the channels on a day-to-day basis, including planning, editing and publishing of content.
You will be responsible for leading the governance, planning and implementation of deliverables to ensure key digital content is relevant, customer-centric, up to date, mobile-first and accessible on behalf of the City of Melbourne. This includes working closely with the Marketing and Communications, IT, and Customer Relations teams, the community of work area content owners and other relevant stakeholders so that work can be effectively planned and delivered. Pivotal to the role is managing key relationships across the organisation regarding requests for digital communication content planning and delivery to ensure alignment with council goals, the City of Melbourne brand and organisational priorities.
Fundamental to your success in this role will be your strong people leadership experience, and stakeholder management skills accompanied by a solid working knowledge of digital channels and platforms, content planning and publishing, analytics, and best practice user experience.
This role will suit a candidate who is comfortable with a balance between being hands on, delivering on BAU and project work.
A collaborative and engaging style is critical to the role along with your demonstrated experience with people leadership.

- Comprehensive understanding of digital communication, including emerging technologies, trends and developments, and how this can provide organisational value and be utilised within a multi-faceted environment
- Extensive experience in day-to-day management of digital content planning and implementation, with a solid working knowledge of delivery channels, content platforms and ability to provide hands-on expertise where required
- Demonstrated experience in management of electronic direct mail (EDM) and digital database marketing development and implementation
- Highly developed leadership and relationship management abilities that can influence and advise decision makers and to broker agreeable outcomes between business and technology stakeholders
- Excellent digital and written communications skills coupled with a good understanding of user experience, information architecture, search engine optimisation, and accessibility principles
- Proficiency in website analytics packages such as Google Analytics. Knowledge and/or experience with HTML, CSS and content management systems
- Tertiary qualification in Digital Communications, or a related field, or an equivalent level of experience.
