Senior Project Officer - Rough Sleeping Service Coordination
$99,351 + 9.5% Superannuation

The City of Melbourne in partnership with the Department of Health and Human Services Victoria are collaborating to develop a joint strategic response to the current levels of rough sleeping in and around the CBD of Melbourne. The position of Senior Project Officer – Rough Sleeping Service Coordination will be pivotal to the iterative design and implementation of a strengthened service co-ordination model to be developed between government and service partners in 2017/18.
The Position...will lead, implement and develop the Rough Sleeping Service Coordination Project, supporting co-ordination at the agency and systems level among services responding to people who are sleeping rough in the City of Melbourne, including the CBD.
Through external partnership development, project communications, strategic oversight and leadership, planning and delivery, the Rough Sleeping Service Coordination Project supports partner services in their work to sustainably house rough sleepers in Melbourne’s CBD by:
- supporting frontline services to plan and coordinate service provision so people sleeping rough are identified, engaged and receive the services (including longer-term case management) that can best assist them to meet their housing, health and other needs
- developing and maintaining a shared information system that provides a summary of issues, agreed actions, key workers and services for individuals sleeping rough
- identifying and removing barriers to people sleeping rough getting a house and keeping a home.
This opportunity can also be considered as a current VPS secondment if applicable.
You will have…(selection criteria)
- Qualification in a relevant field including social welfare, public health, youth work, community development or another human services related field.
- Experience designing and leading service delivery, including care coordination processes, with people who have experienced chronic homelessness and an understanding of the literature and evidence in this area.
- Skills and experience in leading and improving collaborative projects within and across organisations
- Highly developed stakeholder engagement skills
- Report writing skills and experience
Desirable:
- Experience in the strategic design, implementation and evaluation of service coordination projects
- Existing relationships and professional networks with services delivering a response to people sleeping rough in the City of Melbourne
- Understanding of consumer participation frameworks and experience engaging with consumers as project stakeholders
