Director, Strategic Communications

This is a unique and highly influential position for an executive level stakeholder and communications specialist.  Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer you will provide authoritative, proactive and strategic advice, and be the leader of a multidisciplinary branch of stakeholder, community engagement, communications, marketing and design professionals; a team who form part of a notable, high performing communications and community engagement function within one of the biggest infrastructure projects in Victoria.

An opportunity to be involved in a project of this size, profile and impact is a once in a lifetime as the Level Crossing Removal Authority shapes the course of a new Melbourne, for the benefit of Melburnians.  There's 15 down and 35 to go and you could play a pivotal part in shaping the future of our communications delivery, in support of our rapid program of works.

This role requires someone who has a solid and extensive history in leading strategic communications and stakeholder activities, within a complex, issues rich, project environment.  A knowledge of government processes and priorities is essential to enable you to operate within the project delivery landscape, effectively anticipating communications and stakeholder issues before they arise, and be the provision of that advice at an executive, Board and Ministerial level.

A solid and proven leader you will strive for excellence as you motivate and drive your team to be high performing and successful.  As an active member of the Executive Team, you will lead by example to enrich positive team culture and encourage collaboration.  Engaging with stakeholders across government, other agencies and our partners, you will maintain the reputation of LXRA as a leader and innovator in creating great change in Victoria.

We believe in inclusiveness, diversity and equality and are committed to ensuring that our workplaces are a reflection of the Victorian community. We recognise the benefits that a diverse and inclusive culture brings for our employees and in turn, encourage talented people from all backgrounds, abilities and identities to apply to our vacancies. We strongly encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, people with a disability and others from under-represented backgrounds to apply.
