Environment and Planning Advisor

About Us

The environment team is an enthusiastic and committed team within the Built Environment and Business Sustainability business unit.  The team is responsible for managing the department's state-wide Environmental Management System.  This includes identifying opportunities to reduce environmental impacts; reporting and analysing environmental performance; understanding environmental compliance, and providing advice on statutory and strategic planning requirements.

About the Role

As the Environment and Planning Advisor, you will be responsible for providing advice and managing processes on a range of environmental initiatives and planning matters including:

  • leading strategic environmental and planning matters associated with capital works, such as native flora, fauna and land development.
  • developing and leading environmental initiatives.
  • providing advice on land use planning and impacts of policy changes.

About You

As the successful candidate, you will have:

  • proven experience in providing advice to executives on environmental legislation and planning matters
  • an understanding of environmental management within a large organisation
  • excellent stakeholder engagement skills.
