Location:  Parramatta, Sydney

  • Work in a great network of community engagement professionals
  • Lead community engagement that supports environment and heritage and community outcomes across Greater Sydney
  • Work with OEH multidisciplinary teams, external stakeholders and communities to develop and extend good engagement practice.

We have an exciting opportunity for you to contribute to the design and delivery of high quality community engagement strategies and approaches for the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage (OEH).

Communities and Greater Sydney Delivery Division brings together functions which support our communities to be thriving, sustainable and resilient. The Division seeks to strengthen communities and partnerships across NSW through programs and grants for energy efficiency, sustainability, climate change adaptation, coast and flood protection. It has a strong focus on liveability issues in Greater Sydney, including protecting cultural heritage and urban biodiversity, and strategic biodiversity planning.

Essential requirements

  • Sound experience in and a track record of delivering community engagement program outcomes including target audience assessment
  • Demonstrated understanding of community engagement strategies and approaches
  • Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation and influencing skills including proven ability to exercise sound judgement in facilitating stakeholder engagement
  • Demonstrated knowledge of government protocols, policies, processes and procedures.

Q2. Describe an example of where you had to develop a stakeholder analysis, or similar, for a project. Who were your stakeholders and how did you identify them? What did you need to consider?
