HR Advisor 

We are NSW’s bulk water supplier, river operator and your one-stop shop for licensing, water trades and water information.  We supply two thirds of water used in NSW from our 42 dams, rivers and pipelines to regional towns, irrigators, Sydney Water and local water utilities.

We are looking for 2 experienced HR Advisers to join our motivated and dedicated team for up to 12 months.  

The successful candidate will provide accurate, consistent and responsive advice on policies, procedures, EA interpretation, performance and conduct issues and employee grievances. They will have an opportunity to assist to develop and implement key P&C initiatives and projects. Our team’s vision is to empower our people to succeed. Safety is paramount in all we do.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Provide accurate and timely advice to employees and leaders on employment related matters.
  • End to end case management of employment related matters including complaints, professional conduct and performance issues.
  • Ensure compliance with employment related law, industrial instruments, policies and procedures.
  • Co-ordinate and implement key P&C initiatives and projects linked to WaterNSW Strategic Priorities.
  • Create & maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Assist and coach leaders on best practice in managing people issues
  • Partner with others to deliver high quality services for our business

Skills and Qualifications required:

  • Demonstrated HR generalist experience in a similar role or industry
  • Experience in ER/IR case management, ideally gained in blue and white collar customer groups
  • A quick learner able to interpret and apply the EA, policies and procedures
  • Excellent stakeholder management experience and a demonstrated ability to engage with senior leaders and line managers
  • Strong ability to maintain discretion and confidence and deal with highly sensitive information
  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources / related field and / or extensive working knowledge of contemporary HR practices
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence

 This role is based in Parramatta, however, an alternate NSW location may be considered. WaterNSW offers flexible work options including working from home and flexibility around hours of work.  Some travel may be involved as well as the ability to attend the workplace in person where face-to-face collaboration may result in better outcomes. The successful applicant will be required to undergo pre-employment checks including a National Police check and medical check. Any offer of employment will be subject to successful clearance of these checks.
