Regional Supply and Flood Modelling Manager

We are NSW’s bulk water supplier, river operator and your one-stop shop for licensing, water trades and water information.  We supply two thirds of water used in NSW from our 42 dams, rivers and pipelines to regional towns, irrigators, Sydney Water and local water utilities. We also own and operate the largest surface and groundwater monitoring network in the southern hemisphere and build, maintain and operate essential infrastructure. 

As a Regional Supply and Flood Modelling Manager, you will manage and lead the technical specialists and oversee the delivery of complex hydrology and hydraulic studies, including Probable Maximum Flood estimation and extreme flood studies for dam safety investigations to meet legal, regulatory and business requirements. You will also provide high level expert hydrologic advice and support for activities across WaterNSW, including investigation of water supply system capabilities to meet desired levels of service for regional customers. 

It is a Permanent, Full time role reporting into the Manager Water Modelling and Advice.

To be successful, you need to have experience in leading technical teams and,

  • Relevant Tertiary Engineering qualifications and expert knowledge in Hydrology/hydraulics/water supply/water data systems through post graduate studies or through demonstrated extensive experience.
  • Extensive experience in planning, operations, configuration, and optimisation of regional water supply infrastructure.
  • Extensive experience in the use of analytical techniques in catchment hydrology, flood hydrology and hydraulics for dam safety investigations.
  • Proven ability to manage and deliver complex projects and lead a technical team.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
