Catchment Protection Adviser

WaterNSW is Australia’s biggest water supplier, responsible for 42 dams operating across NSW. WaterNSW is a centre of excellence for water delivery and catchment protection delivering water to a diverse customer base. We identify, build and operate water infrastructure solutions.

Currently, WaterNSW is looking for an experienced Catchment Protection Adviser based at our brand new office in Parramatta. 

About the position…

You will be responsible for the coordination & the review of assessment applications for development adjacent to or directly impacting water supply infrastructure. Key to the role will be liaising with local government, state government and proponents and their consultants regarding proposed development adjacent to or directly impacting water supply infrastructure and catchment protection.

You will enjoy working autonomously and have advanced written communication skills. You will have a strong work ethic and drive to achieve outcomes. Working to deadlines is what you love. Exceptional interpersonal communications skills is what you will possess which will show through your ability to liaise with range of internal and external stakeholders at various levels.

About you…

To be successful in this position you will have:

  • Degree in Environmental management/ engineering/planning, Natural Resources Management or related discipline.
  • Knowledge of the Environmental Planning and assessment Act 1979 as it relates to the assessment of infrastructure projects and activities, the Contaminated Land Management Act 1997 and other relevant statutory instruments and guidelines.
  • Extensive experience in environmental planning or environmental management.
