The County Court of Victoria is established pursuant to the County Court Act 1958. It has original and appellate jurisdiction and is the principal trial court in the State of Victoria. The Court hears over 11,000 criminal, common law and commercial cases each year.

About the role:

The Pre-Trial Officer - Common Law works within the Common Law Registry team that supports the progress of cases to trial. The role guides the pre-trial steps by processing interlocutory applications and timetabling orders and listing cases for hearing.  The role makes decisions by interpreting and applying the relevant Rules whilst also liaising with parties and practitioners to address barriers to cases progressing.  The role works closely with the Judicial Registrars and Judges to resolve procedural issues so cases can proceed.

About you:

Our ideal candidate will have experience within the Victorian court system and/or a good knowledge of relevant legislation.
