Case Manager, VCAT 

VCAT is seeking dynamic, change-driven individuals to fill these new and exciting roles within our Human Rights Division (HRD).

The Case Managers will join our evolving Human Rights Division and be part of an exciting pilot case management team dedicated to providing greater access to justice, quality customer centric services and timely outcomes.

The Human Rights Division hears cases under the Guardianship and Administration Act 1986Medical Treatment Planning and Decisions Act 2016Powers of Attorney Act 2014Equal Opportunity Act 2010Health Records Act 2001Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014Disability Act 2006Mental Health Act 2014 and other relevant legislation. The successful applicant will have an opportunity to make a genuine contribution by delivering effective and efficient guardianship and human rights services to the community of Victoria.

The Role:

These are newly created roles within the Human Rights Division. The successful applicants will be responsible for the delivery of collaborative assessment, coordination and end-to-end case management of applications made to HRD at VCAT. The roles will undertake intensive case management incorporating administrative and business functions with a strong customer focus designed to promote awareness and understanding of VCAT processes and legislative requirements.

We are looking for people who are passionate about making a difference, highly organised and committed to delivering high quality outcomes for customers. To ensure success in the role you will have:

  • Experience in a community or government service delivery environment working with legislative framework
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with customers to understand service needs
  • Strong advocacy and negotiation skills
  • Exceptional self-management, planning and organisational skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team
  • Experience working with people who are at risk or have complex needs.
