About the role:

The role of the System Integration Engineer is to install, configure and manage the deployments of both Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and bespoke applications for the Xtrapolis 2.0 program. The System Integration Engineer will collaborate with project, supplier, and operational teams to identify, manage, and resolve issues with application deployments and ensure a smooth transition to MTM operational teams for the ongoing management of the applications. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Review manuals, architectures, details designs to identify requirements and gaps for deployment of applications.
  • COTS and bespoke application installation, configuration on on-premise and Cloud Infrastructure.
  • Web technologies, Application, Middleware and Database deployment, configuration on on-premise and cloud infrastructure.
  • Experience in tuning and optimisation on security, performance and availability requirements for applications and database technologies.
  • Prepare as-built specifications, including: Host Virtualization, Operating systems, Storage, Networking configuration. Application, Middleware, Database and software interfaces design and configuration (including required firewall rules).
  • Engage with Sec Ops, Network, Infrastructure and Supplier technical teams to identify, manage and resolve issues with application deployments.
  • Engage with testing teams to support test activities (setup of test environments, data, and configuration, troubleshooting).
  • Maintain a baseline software baseline and configuration version controls.

About you:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field of study, or equivalent experience.
  • Four or more years in demonstrable experience in Application and Infrastructure deployments and/or operations.
  • Proficient in building and managing VMs using technologies such as VMWare.
  • Proficiency in building Windows, Windows Server Environments and Linux Environments (including Ubuntu and Debian).
  • Experience in applying security principles to environment builds.
  • Experience building and maintaining automated software build and deployment environments using tools such as Jenkins.
  • Experience with tools used for monitoring and maintaining systems such as Nagios, Splunk and others.
  • Ability to write complex system support documentation and maintenance procedures.
