What you'll be doing

The Business Implementation Lead (Senior Project Manager) is responsible for providing oversight for the delivery of activities within the Fusion Program (including the State-wide Laboratory Information Management System and associated projects in scope) as part of the Business Implementation Group, under the leadership of the Program Manager. The Business Implementation Group is responsible for the design, build, testing and validation of the LIMS solution to ensure that it meets the business requirements.
 
The Business Implementation Lead provides leadership and guidance to the project managers and senior application specialists/business analysts reporting to this position and ensures project milestones and activities are completed on time, on budget, to quality standards, and within agreed scope. All project activities must align with the Fusion delivery roadmap, ICT operational processes and sector, the organisation's strategic plan, and NSW Government policies.

Extensive experience in managing medium to large and/or complex technical projects in a large and complex service industry organisation, including relevant project management qualifications or equivalent (e.g. PRINCE2, PMBOK and Agile). This includes extensive knowledge and demonstrated experience ensuring projects are completed on time, on budget, to quality standards and within agreed scope.
  2. Extensive and demonstrated experience in project management and implementation, including proven capacity to develop and implement complex strategic initiatives, developing and monitoring project plans, managing change, performance and reporting, issue and risk management and managing budgets.
  3. Proven ability to manage resources, including acquiring, allocating and managing the resources, such as individuals and their skills, technology, materials and other resources required for a project. This includes personnel resource management – motivating, developing, performance management and directing people as they work.
  4. Highly developed analytical skills including the ability to analyse and interpret complex information from numerous sources, prepare and present analysis and reports, deal with challenges creatively and achieve business focused solutions.
  5. Demonstrated superior organisational skills and experience working in a high volume and demanding professional environment with proven capacity to prioritise, multi-task, achieve business goals, perform and always work with a customer focused approach.
  6. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills with demonstrated experience engaging, collaborating, and influencing key stakeholders and customers to influence and achieve optimal business outcomes.
  7. Proficiency in contemporary project management tools (e.g. Microsoft Project, Asana, Trello) or equivalent.
