Forensicare is a specialist agency providing forensic mental health services to offenders in the Australian state of Victoria. Forensicare operates the Thomas Embling Hospital a 116 bed secure hospital providing acute care, rehabilitation and continuing care services. Our organisation has developed a strong national and international reputation for research, teaching and service excellence.

We are currently seeking to employ enrolled nurses to participate in our 6 month Enrolled Nurse Graduate Program, with the possibility for ongoing employment. 
The Enrolled Nurse Program assists the enrolled nurse to successfully transition to the rewarding challenge of working in a forensic mental health environment. It aims to enhance the clinical and professional confidence and competence of the enrolled nurse in a supportive environment, which fosters continuing learning, professional responsibilities and independence.

Enrolled nurses will work rostered shifts, including nights. All enrolled nurses must be registered with the AHPRA prior to commencement of the course.
To be eligible to apply for this position applicants must have completed a Diploma of Nursing in the last 12 months and be medication endorsed.  You are also required to have had a tour of the hospital (see details below).

To facilitate the development of the enrolled nurses as competent, knowledgeable and responsible nurses, this six month program will focus on:
•Improving your ability to respond appropriately to signs of mental illness
•Developing your understanding of offending and substance use
•Your contribution to planning care for patients and assist with the development of personal safety plans
•Developing skills to assist in the management of patients with behavioral disturbance

Interviews for this position will be take place during November.
