The Role
We have partnered with the NSW Government to recruit a Senior Business Coordinator for a 12-month contract role, starting ASAP. This is a new role and its primary focus to coordinate the high level business support services ensuring the division functions smoothly.

You will contribute to the management of all cross-functional issues affecting the group, including Safety, Financial and HR Management, Business Processes, Reporting, Strategic Planning & Organisational movement.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Coordinate business planning processes for the Division, ensuring alignment with corporate strategies and initiatives
  • Draft strategies and plans for approval by the Division to be translated into meaningful performance targets, as well as provide assurance and regular reporting for senior management.
  • Provide advice, technical expertise and operational support to the Unit and the Division’s main functions on a wide variety of business matters including all HR, finance and procurement submissions
  • Prepare complex correspondence, briefing notes and reports in relation to specific projects, initiatives and issues ensuring that submissions are accurate, timely and have appropriate signoffs.
  • Contribute to the sound financial management for the Division, including planning, budgeting, reporting and control
  • Assist in the procurement process within the Division, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures and providing strategic advice and assurance to the Deputy Director General on all procurement submissions
  • Coordinate administrative functions, including office procedures, purchasing and records management and ensure compliance of the Division with corporate administrative policies and procedures

Key Challenges:

  • Work in an environment of constantly competing priorities and managing these priorities to enable completion of projects while delivering day to day tasks in the required timeframes
  • Use a degree of understanding, analysis and judgement to ensure the is only involved in issues as necessary and that conversely, issues which require their attention are raised in a timely manner

Essential requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, or equivalent experience
  • High prioritisation and organisational skills
  • Exemplary written and oral skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent relationship management skills
