One of Australia's most reputable State Government Departments is looking to engage an experienced Data Research Officer to supports the development and implementation of data management activities and data systems strategy within the department. The successful Data Research Officer will be offered an initial 3 month contract starting ASAP at a rewarding hourly rate. 

The successful Data Research Officer will be responsible for, but not limited to;

• Researching, synthesising and analysing research findings to support the strategic management of data
• Analysing data to support the development of policy, funding models, programs, performance reporting
• Review and analyse data to identify issues and to prepare proposals to improve data collection processes, accuracy, quality and governance.
• Collaborating with other areas and use sophisticated technology to model the impact of reforms and policy decisions
• Managing data collections

The successful Data Research Officer must have experience in the following;

• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Data Research Officer
• Demonstrated experience in analysing/using multiple data sets
• Strong skills and understanding of figures and Excel is advantageous
• Experience in analysing data on a large scale
• Ability to communicate in visual form whilst researching
• Proven experience in developing new funding models and funding scenarios
