An exciting opportunity exists for a senior Social Worker to join a dynamic social work team at Mona Vale Hospital.

Where you'll be working
This role will provide senior management support and guidance to a dedicated team of social workers covering in-patient and out-patient areas of Mona Vale Hospital. What you'll be doing

Providing senior management, support and guidance to a team of social workers working across rehabilitation, GEM and Palliative Care. This role also supports community social workers working with community clients over 65.

You will provide leadership, direction and support to the team, delegate tasks and activities and promote the social work service across the site. This role will provide supervision and senior clinical input to the team across a range of complex case loads.

As a Head Of Department you will be required to participate in HOD duties at a social work level and as part of the allied health managers team.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
  2. Bachelor or post graduate degree in Social Work (or equivalent) and eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). Recent, extensive and varied experience at Level 2 or above.
  3. Comprehensive skills in People management as it relates to Social Work services including performance management, workplace change management, workforce recruitment and retention strategies.
  4. High level written and interpersonal communication and negotiation skills with experience in communicating with patients, carers, community stakeholders, staff, management and executive.
  5. Experience in the development and monitoring of quality improvement programs and management of Departmental activities relating to organisational accreditation requirements (including policy development and implementation) as relevant to Social Work services.
  6. Understanding of cost centre budget management, resource allocation, service development and resource planning as relevant to Social Work services.
  7. Demonstrated strategic planning and the ability to analyse, trend and report on data.
