The incumbent is required to work at Royal North Shore Hospital as well as at Ryde and Graythwaite Hospital.

What you'll be doing
The Senior Orthotist will: 
  • Provide Paediatric Orthotics Service for patients in NSLHD
  • Provide Orthotics service to Graythwaite and Ryde Hospitals
  • Assist with Royal North Shore Hospital inpatients and outpatients Orthotics workload
  • Deliver a high quality clinical service based on evidence based practice and established protocol
  • Run Orthotics Clinics with Rehabilitation Specialists and Allied Health Teams
  • Provide professional feedback and participate in developing educational materials to patients/carers/guardians
  • Participate in multi-discipline patient management meetings

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
  • Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them
  • Must hold as a minimum a bachelor degree in prosthetics and/or orthotics which provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Orthotic Prosthetic Association, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer.
  • Extensive postgraduate experience working with children/adults with developed advanced skill in the neurological lower limb assessment and management using evidence based practice.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing clinical supervision to junior Orthotists and ability to provide support to student Orthotists.
  • Demonstrated experience in the involvement of planning, implementation and evaluation of local service delivery incorporating the quality improvement process.
  • Demonstrated advanced clinical reasoning skill and ability to work independently, and function as an expert in paediatric/adult orthotics management.
  • Current driving licence (Class C unrestricted) valid within Australia and willingness to use same for the work purpose.
