Position Summary 

Community Child & Family Health Registered Nurse  - Casual positions

Applications are invited from registered nurses with post graduate qualifications in Child and Family Health to work in a dynamic community based, multidisciplinary Child and Family Health team.  Work involves Early Childhood Health services including home visiting, breastfeeding support, developmental surveillance and screening, parenting advice and facilitating parent groups with families with children from newborn to 5 years of age.

This position is Casual and is classified as a Registered Nurse. Note that employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if the position cannot be filled on a permanent basis.

The Child and Family Health Nurse is a member of the North Shore Ryde multidisciplinary Child and Family Health Service. The Child and Family Health Nurse strives to maintain, improve and promote the optimal health and wellbeing of children and their families within the North Shore Ryde Community. Sound clinical judgement and effective communication skills are utilised in caring for families. The Child and Family Health Nurse is considerate to individual and cultural values, and endeavours to empower families through a sensitive and flexible approach to service delivery.  The Child and Family Health Nurse provide services to families and children from newborn to 5years in a variety of settings including Early Childhood Health Centres, Family Care Centre and where qualified in the Audiometry Service for children from 3 to 12 years of age. The Child and Family Health Nurse will be required to work in any of the CFH settings including any Early Childhood Health Centre and the Family Care Cottage and will not be assigned to a specific ECHC.
