    • with a potential to increase to 1.0 EFT over the next 6 months

The Department

The Senior Project Manager role provides an opportunity to join a dynamic team of clinicians and researchers at Monash Neurology Department, Alfred Health, focussed on delivering excellence in care and research to people with Multiple Sclerosis and Neuroimmunological disorders.

The Role

Reporting to the Co-ordinating Principal Investigators, the Senior Project Manager will be a subject matter expert and provide strategic and operational support to senior academic and professional staff.  The appointee will be responsible for management of a range of significant and complex research related activities to facilitate the establishment and coordination of a multi-national, multi-million dollar co-sponsored clinical trial.  This includes high level research, computing, administrative, financial and operational activities, as well as supervisory responsibilities.  These responsibilities will be shared with a second Senior Project Manager, and hence the appointee must be highly organized and an exceptional communicator.

Skills 

The applicant must be able to demonstrate:

  • Postgraduate qualifications and relevant experience; or extensive clinical trials experience.
  • Exceptional project management skills with a proven record of successfully managing all aspects of large, complex and organisational-wide research projects.
  • Exceptional planning and organisational skills, with experience establishing priorities, allocating resources and meeting deadlines
  •  Extensive experience in leading, motivating and developing a team of professionals to achieve project objectives
  • Superior analytical, evaluation and research skills including demonstrated ability to quickly assimilate new concepts and information and deliver positive, innovative solutions
  • Ability to implement and manage complex clinical research protocols
  •  Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to liaise with and influence senior management, develop professional and effective communications for a range of audiences.
  • Experience in financial and budget management and reporting
