About the Role

The Technology & Cyber Security department are seeking applications from suitably experienced candidates to fill the position of Infrastructure Lead.

As the Infrastructure Lead, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the technological backbone of the organisation. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the stability, efficiency, and security of the organisation’s technology infrastructure. You will lead a team of skilled professionals, collaborate with various departments, and implement best practices to support the organisation's overall objectives.

Reporting to Information System Superintendent and working in a dedicated team, you will be accountable for:

  • Leading and mentoring a team of infrastructure professionals;
  • Fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment;
  • Setting clear expectations, providing guidance, and coaching;
  • Planning and executing infrastructure projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards;
  • Developing and executing strategies for the organisation's technology infrastructure;
  • Overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of hardware, software, networks, and cloud-based solutions;
  • Ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance of infrastructure components;
  • Implementing and enforcing security policies and practices to safeguard company assets and sensitive information;
  • Leading efforts to diagnose and resolve infrastructure-related issues;
  • Conducting regular assessments of infrastructure capacity and performance;
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains.

About You

We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic person who is a self-starter, problem solver and adept at working within a busy collaborative team environment.

Tertiary qualification in Information Technology or relevant industry certifications are desirable along with demonstrated experience in the resources industry (e.g. mining, oil, gas, utilities or aviation).

Mandatory requirements include 5+ years in a similar leadership role, a Current Queensland ‘C’ class driver’s license, ability to obtain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) and ability to work after-hours and on-call.
