What you'll be doing

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced HR professional! ISLHD is looking for a HR professional who is seeking a change from the day to day HR operational world, with an interest in industrial relations. Working in the workforce relations team you will have the ability to build and enhance your IR skills. The position is part-time, 24 hours a week and is a temporary position (18 months) until December 2023. Flexible working is available in terms of location and hours worked per day.

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a TGA approved COVID-19 vaccine prior to commencement with NSW Health OR provide an approved medical contraindication certificate. You will be required to show proof of your COVID-19 vaccination status prior to securing this role. Please also provide proof of booster vaccination, if available.

This is a temporary Part time 24hpw position until December 2023 with the possibility of an extension subject to funding. 

Selection Crieria

  1. Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent and extensive experience in senior workforce functions ideally obtained from working in a large and complex organisation.
  2. Extensive knowledge of a broad range of workforce and industrial relations matters including expert knowledge of legislative framework relating to workforce relations, ideally in the health sector.
  3. Experience working in a complex and high volume work area, with the ability to successfully manage competing demands to ensure that deadlines are met.
  4. Demonstrated ability to interpret and advise on awards, policy and legislation and lead development of policy,procedure and guidelines/tools.
  5. Demonstrated ability to use research and analytical and problem solving skills to make judgements when addressing complex workforce issues.
  6. Excellent negotiation, influencing, and verbal communication skills, including ability to and/or experience in making representations in industrial tribunals and deliver training/information sessions.
  7. Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, throughout all organisational levels.
