What you'll be doing
Through the provision of direct support and organisation of relevant programmes for coders, the District Clinical Coding Manager will facilitate and ensure the maintenance of a high level of coding quality and accuracy across the District and ensure completion of coding within designated deadlines.

Selection Criteria:

  • Tertiary qualifications and/or proven expertise and experience in a health information management role within a clinical or health related service area.
  • Demonstrated recent experience and competency in using the ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS clinical classification and proven understanding of the relationship between clinical coding, casemix and activity based funding.
  • Demonstrated experience in the management of staff including excellent skills in the management of financial and human resources and the delivery of clinical coding services across an organisation.
  • Proven initiative with high level conceptual and analytical skills, including the ability to problem solve, interpret and report on complex information rapidly and accurately.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated leadership and team building qualities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including extensive report writing and verbal presentation skills.
  • Experience in and knowledge of health related patient and clinical information.
