The position of CEO will be required to maintain significant recent improvements and gains made by Council in key areas including: long-term financial stability, asset management, infrastructure renewal, economic development and the ongoing successful delivery of several major projects. To support this, the CEO will continue the development of a high performing organisational culture.
Naturally, we expect the incoming CEO to meet all of the usual competency requirements for a CEO position in a large Australian Regional Local Government. Just as important is the strategic thinking, attitude, professionalism and energy that you will bring to the City and the role. The position requires prudent financial management and planning, and leadership skills to consolidate several successful community and social programs.
Key to the City’s success has been the collective ability of the Council, the CEO and the Executive Team to foster beneficial relationships with State and Federal Governments and the private sector. The quality of ongoing community engagement and the management of these relationships is paramount in delivering positive outcomes for the City. Council will offer the position on the basis of a negotiated contract of up to five (5) years
with a total remuneration package inclusive of salary, superannuation and motor vehicle, within the range $247,000pa to $325,000pa.
