Council is deeply committed to the journey of Reconciliation. We have a long and proud tradition of working with the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung people, the traditional custodians of the land council operates on. We are a primary resource and supporter of the Barrbunin Beek Aboriginal Gathering Place and we seek guidance from the Banyule Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Advisory Committee (BATSIAC).
The Role
As the Aboriginal Community & Social Planner you will be working with a small team, strongly committed to diversity and cultural safety. You will work alongside our Reconciliation Projects Officer to support and strengthen Council's Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander strategies and services including extending project support to the Barrbunin Beek Aboriginal Gathering Place in Heidelberg West.
Over the first 12 months, a considerable part of the workload of the Aboriginal Community and Social Planner will be to implement the new Barrbunin Beek Governance Structure and work to develop and implement the Barrbunin Beek Strategic Plan
