VPS 2.2: $65,409 per annum + 10.5% superannuation

The National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) is seeking a Project Support Officer who will contribute to the successful delivery of the NGV Contemporary construction project through administrative and project support to the Department, project teams and senior staff.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

Working with the Project Manager you will deliver project support to the NGV Contemporary project including the design, construction and preparation for the new gallery building, developing project plans, tracking, and monitoring timelines, preparing reports and other communications and tracking budgets, to support the timely delivery of project activities. Other key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering effective and efficient administrative support to the NGV Contemporary project, including coordinating team meetings, recording, and tracking of meeting outcomes and coordinating the delivery of agreed outcomes. 
  • Providing assistance to the Project Manager and other senior staff, with research, writing and preparation of presentations, with a focus on museum best practice.
  • Working collaboratively and effectively with staff and teams across NGV, as well as NGV Contemporary and Melbourne Arts Precinct project partners.

To be successful you will have previous experience providing high quality administrative and project support coupled with a tertiary degree in the construction, design and architecture, project management or a similar relevant discipline. You can prepare briefs, letters, emails and reports using clear, concise and grammatically correct language coupled with the ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information and material. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on tact and discretion. You will be required to have a proficiency in Microsoft Office products (including Word Excel and PowerPoint) and experience with Adobe Suite.

Knowledge of MS Project and CAD will be advantageous. The ability to interpret design and construction drawings will also be highly regarded.
