We are seeking a psychologist (up to 6 years of service) to join our team who will be responsible for conducting specialised and comprehensive cognitive assessments of children with Neurofibromatosis Type 1 (NF1). Children with NF1 often experience a range of cognitive, learning and social difficulties and attend the NF1 Learning Disorders Clinic and/or Neurogenetic Clinic, The Children’s Hospital at Westmead for assessment.

The Learning Clinic is also actively involved in research activities including neuropsychological and neuroimaging studies involving brain MRI, clinical trials assessing the impact of therapies on cognition, and studies investigating the impact of sleep on cognition and behaviour.

This position will entail conducting cognitive assessments of children ( The psychologist as a member of the NF1 Learning Clinic will work independently as well as with other psychologists; and liaise with both educational and health professionals, and patients and families.
