The responsibility of the Infrastructure & Planning Manager (known internally as the Places to Play Manager) is to ensure that Tennis West adds significant value to key facility projects. This may include venue development, education for operators and owners (particularly local government) and assisting in the formalisation of agreements between key stakeholders. The goal is to increase capacity of all tennis facilities – so you’ll work closely with clubs and other key stakeholders on community venue projects to facilitate the appropriate development and redevelopment of facilities!
 
In this role you will:

  • Promote the ‘Tennis West State Facilities Plan’ to clubs and key government agencies; with a focus on local government
  • Utilise recommendations of the ‘Tennis West Facilities Plan’ to target priority geographic areas, venues and councils requiring development and planning assistance for tennis infrastructure and operations
  • Create a documented supply and demand model for the growth of tennis venues
  • Lead the development of tennis facilities in WA – which include providing support and services to a range of stakeholders and affiliates
  • Manage the National Court Rebate Scheme applications for WA
  • Assist in the development of education and promotion to local government about Tennis’ facility planning, development and management initiatives
  • Lead the ‘Book a Court’ and online initiatives roll out in WA, which includes developing implementation plans and providing support to stakeholders as it relates to online initiatives
  • Develop a comprehensive communication plan for local government to encourage local government to partner with Tennis Australia and Tennis West
  • Oversee the maintenance program of the State Tennis Centre and engage contractors when required
  • Manage the Customer Service Team in terms of recruitment and scheduling
  • Monitor and review the operational performance and viability of venues and facilities; which includes collecting and analysing data and promoting results of these analyses

What you will bring to the role:

  • Previous experience in the local government facilities space (highly regarded)
  • Previous experience in program planning, project management and implementation
  • An understanding of current facility development issues
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to develop partnerships and relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong influencing skills, with the ability to manage expectations and create innovative solutions to problems
  • The ability to prioritise and plan work programs and schedules
  • A high standard of organisational and administrative skills, with a high level of computer literacy (MS Office Suite)
  • An interest in the sporting industry – particularly in tennis and working within the community
  • Tertiary qualifications in sports administration/management/business or other relevant field (highly regarded)
  • You must hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children’s Check.
