State Library Victoria is the State's premier reference and research library, the hub of state-wide information and communication network, and a gateway to the world's information. The State Library is one of Australia's busiest public libraries with a collection of over 4.9 million items and a diverse range of exhibitions and programming, inspiring possibilities for all Victorians.
The Library is currently undertaking an ambitious program to ensure that the Library continues to evolve to meet the changing needs of our vibrant, diverse community. In addition to the delivery of innovative new spaces, the project will also build capacity for the Library's commercial operations, supporting the Library's longer-term financial sustainability.
About the role
The Commercial Operations Manager will play a key role in growing the Library's commercial revenue streams. Key deliverables will include the catering partner procurement and securing a coffee cart operator. A major focus of the role is coordinating the Library's Pricing Policy framework - undertaking pricing reviews and business cases and working with internal stakeholders to cost and price products and services. The Commercial Operations Manager has management responsibility for the Venues team.
The Library is seeking a results-driven manager with experience in commercial activities such as venue hire, food and beverage, tenancy management, event ticketing, etc. You will have project management skills and demonstrated experience in effective team management. The successful candidate will have exceptional relationship building skills and highly developed analytical and problem solving skills.
