Project Engineer / Project Manager 

ABOUT NQBP

North Queensland Bulk Ports (NQBP) is one of Australia's largest port authorities (by tonnage throughput).  More than half of Queensland's trade, by tonnage, passes through our ports at Weipa, Abbot Point, Mackay and Hay Point.  NQBP has offices in both Brisbane and Mackay with a workforce of approximately 120 employees. 

THE ROLE

There is an opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced Project Engineer / Project Manager to join NQBP’s Engineering and Development team.  Reporting to the Principal Engineering Services Manager, you will deliver effective engineering services through design, project management and contract management for port infrastructure and assets.

ACCOUNTABILITIES WILL INCLUDE 

Providing project management, contract management and general engineering services in a sustainable, cost effective, customer focused manner.

Performing the role of Superintendent/Project Manager, undertaking field inspections, contract supervision and providing technical presence during the completion of NQBP projects.

Providing advise to internal and external customers to facilitate the development of projects and enhance management decisions.

Managing external consultants and contractors to optimise the delivery of scheduled outcomes.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

To be considered for this opportunity you will have an engineering degree qualification (Civil / Structural), with professional membership with Engineers Australia (or working towards).  Applicants with a project management background and exposure to a variety of civil works and infrastructure projects will be highly regarded.
