About the Opportunity

As the District Health Service Manager Reliever, you will get the opportunity to visit and work in 8 health facilities across Far West LHD including Balranald, Dareton, Ivanhoe, Menindee, Tibooburra, Wentworth, White Cliffs and Wilcannia.  From the tiny 100 person town of White Cliffs, to the population of 1,600 that Balranald boasts (and everything in between!).  You will working and managing teams in a variety of clinical settings from primary health, sub –acute, acute and Emergency Departments and as the Triple Zero Response for NSW Ambulance in some communities.

In the role, you will be managing and working within integrated healthcare teams to deliver a high quality care and service to achieve patient outcomes and service improvements in a culturally responsive way. We are looking for an experienced clinician with leadership and management skills, with Emergency Department or Critical Care experience and ambulance training will be provided to the successful applicant.

Selection Criteria

  1. Current Nursing registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Appropriate qualifications in management from Post Graduate to tertiary (Masters level) with five years full time equivalent post qualification experience in the relevant field.
  2. Demonstrated leadership skills including conflict resolution, mediation and negotiation, and the ability to motivate, inspire and manage staff to achieve service and professional goals through recognised change management processes.
  3. Proven ability to function effectively as part of a senior management team and to work successfully with other professionals and disciplines in the management of health care services.
  4. Broad clinical experience and operational management expertise at a senior level within a health care environment, including strategic planning, the development, implementation & evaluation of organisational Strategic & Business Plans and Project Management.
  5. Demonstrated understanding of the role, function & funding of public hospital within the Australian and NSW Health Systems.
  6. Current drivers license and ability and willingness to travel in rural and remote areas, including overnight stays
