About Balranald

Balranald is a beautiful rural town on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River. Balranald Shire is also home to the spectacular Yanga national Park and World heritage listed Mungo national park, rich in Aboriginal history. Surrounded by five of NSW’s most iconic rivers (the Murray, Lachlan, Wakool, Edward & Murrumbidgee), the town provides an ideal location for boating, fishing, kayaking and other water sports. It also boasts a range of native flora and fauna and a number of funky frog sculptures are scattered around town. Placed between scenic wetlands and the sunburnt outback, Balranald is a unique combination giving you the best of both worlds.

Skills and Knowledge

  1. Current nursing registration (as well preferably as a midwife) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  2. Appropriate qualifications in management from Post Graduate to tertiary (Masters level) or working towards same.
  3. Demonstrated leadership skills including conflict resolution, mediation and negotiation, and the ability to motivate, inspire and manage staff to achieve service and professional goals through recognised change management processes.
  4. Proven ability to function effectively as part of a senior management team and to work successfully with other professionals and disciplines in the management of health care services.
  5. Broad clinical experience and operational management expertise at a senior level within a health care environment, including strategic planning, the development, implementation & evaluation of organisational Strategic & Business Plans and Project Management.
  6. Ability to identify, evaluate and incorporate emerging trends within the profession of nursing to contribute to strategic planning.
  7. Evidence of successful achievement in financial management & the ability to develop financial efficiency strategies and achieve goals.
  8. Demonstrated understanding of the role, function & funding of public hospital within the Australian and NSW Health Systems.
