Position Profile: We are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced motivated candidate into the role of Executive Director Operations.

This is a newly created position, responsible for the provision of contemporary leadership across all laboratory service matters (excluding Forensic Biology and Forensic Pathology), including leadership and oversight of the Pre-Analytical Client Service and Delivery.

It represents an excellent management opportunity for a passionate health professional to be a key member of the Executive team contributing to the strategic business direction in PathWest reform and improvement objectives, ensuring these objectives are transformed into actions and goals and are achieved within a dynamic innovated and customer-focussed culture.

Essentially, the successful candidate will possess either tertiary qualifications in Medical Science or qualifications as a Pathologist eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia. They will have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the Australian Pathology Regulatory Framework and the same of the key trends in the Australian health system with the proven ability to effectively monitor and interpret the ‘industry landscape’ to meet anticipated challenges. These role specific attributes partnered with a demonstrated capacity to lead and manage a large complex pathology organisation would suit a dynamic individual who thrives on the demands of leading a multi-disciplinary 24/7 operations environment.

This individual will possess energy, drive and exceptional stakeholder management skills utilising their excellent communications and negotiation skills to constructively engage in decision making on resource allocation in the achievement of PathWest fiscal targets.

They will also have the capacity to focus on achieving results to deliver efficient, effective and safe service that is consistent with our customer needs and defined quality expectation. All this whilst also demonstrating their business acumen to recognise opportunities to enhance the product/service delivery and capitalise on these through effective change strategies.
