PMO Senior Systems Specialist

About the role

This newly created position will take responsibility for the technical oversight and system ownership of the PMO systems.  The successful candidate will work in collaboration with the PMO leadership team and key stakeholders to develop, implement and oversee a continuous improvement program for PMO systems and reporting. 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • In collaboration with the PMO leadership, develop long-term platform strategy and business cases for PMO systems
  • Provide input into strategies that maximise the business benefit extracted from the current systems by providing analysis, specialist knowledge and expertise to inform decision-making
  • Responsible for all administrative requirements and functions associated with PMO systems, including keeping systems up-to-date and ensuring all relevant information, knowledge sharing and training materials are current and appropriately available
  • Administer system configuration of PMO systems through the provision of specialist business and technical knowledge, service and advice. Perfom and/or provide oversight and support to the administration of systems permissions (eg. User administration)
  • Ensure that business, user requests and incidents regarding the function, operation and use of PMO systems are recorded and addressed through a structured process which records and classifies each according to its priority and severity. Prepare requirements to transfer elements of support to ITSS 

Skills & Experience

  • Significant experience in a similar role, applying and demonstrating a strong knowledge of computer systems, testing processes and release and configuration procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to design, develop and implement improvements to systems/procedures
  • Experience in the development/preparation and documentation of high level user requirements in consultation with relevant stakeholders
  • Report development experience and capability (experience with JSQL, Jira, Confluence and Cognos preferred)
  • Strong understanding and prior application of project management methodologies
  • Demonstrated stakeholder engagement skills with an ability to confidently provide subject matter expertise and guidance

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in Information Technologies which may include postgraduate study
