Director Agent Performance Management

This role is already based in Geelong, with some travel between Melbourne and Geelong required in the interim.

The Insurance Business Unit (IBU) oversees the implementation and operation of workers' compensation legislation in Victoria. They are dedicated to ensuring injured workers and employers are provided with valued quality service and support injured workers through their recovery to return to safe and sustainable work. The Director Agent Performance and Relationships has joint responsibility as a member of the IBU Senior Leadership team for the achievement of headline Insurance Business Unit Targets including Scheme Viability, Return to Work and Service.

As Director of Agent Performance and Relationships, you will be responsible for planning within the strategic framework and providing advice to the Executive team while demonstrating highly specialised management skills. You will be required to be interpretive, use evaluation tools and constructive thinking to address new and existing challenges.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Proactively leading the division that works closely with WorkSafe Agents, to facilitate and develop effective partnerships
  • Driving and sharing the vision for delivering the headline Insurance Business Unit objectives
  • Leading and developing continuous improvement of the Agent model including contract management, oversight and improvement of the remuneration model, and monitoring and enhancing Agent compliance and performance against targets
  • Leading and developing a range of competency and capability programs in collaboration with industry partners.
  • Developing and managing partnerships that foster innovation and collaboration
  • Leading and facilitating the sustainability of Impairment Benefits through policy developments, stakeholder engagement and training
  • Representing WorkSafe and IBU with multiple stakeholders in Victoria and other interstate jurisdictions

To be considered for this senior and pivotal position it is essential that you have well developed technical expertise within the WIRC Act 2013 and Accident Compensation Act 1985 (or similar legislation in other jurisdiction). You are a proven leader who can communicate and drive shared visions and strategy, with a demonstrable record of success in leading a team to meet specific output measures. You will inspire, innovate and utilise your interpersonal skills to negotiate and influence senior management both within and outside WorkSafe. Your ability to plan, implement and evaluate risk and develop effective strategies to manage financial, operational and reputational risk is essential.
