Network, Security and Unified Communications Engineer

The Information Technology (IT) unit is located within the Department of Parliamentary Services and provides Information and Communications Technology (ICT) services to a diverse client group encompassing the two Houses of Parliament, Members of Parliament, Parliamentary Senior Management, Parliamentary Committees, Parliamentary Officers and Electorate Officers.

The unit provides ICT support services to around 900 users at 128 regional and metropolitan locations across Victoria and the 2 sites at Parliament House and 55 St Andrews Place. The unit maintains high levels of security, availability and confidentiality to protect the integrity and reputation of Parliament.

About the role

Reporting to the Senior Network Security Engineer, you will develop and maintain rapport with users by displaying a detailed understanding of their support requirements with a primary focus on the provision of excellent customer service. You will provide incident analysis and resolution and will manage small to medium infrastructure projects across the Parliament.

This is an ideal opportunity for an individual with experience in Cisco Unified Communications, Routing and Switching, Firewalls and Security Appliances.  In addition, experience with Windows Server, VMWare, AD, ADFS, Nimble Storage, CommVault and Exchange, would be advantageous

You will be a Network and System Administrator with proven infrastructure management capability, and a passion for excellence in service delivery.  

Your communication and interpersonal skills will be a strength, as is your capacity to be customer focussed and to effectively build relationships at all levels of the organisation.

You're highly developed organisational skills, strong sense of initiative within a policy framework, and ability to handle a busy workload in a professional manner will be the key to your success in this role.
