You'll be the driving force behind our critical projects, ensuring they're delivered efficiently and in line with our vision. Your primary responsibility will be to coordinate the development, approval, and ongoing governance  of a portfolio of transmission network projects aligned with the QEJP whilst ensuring compliance with regulatory processes and actively supporting non-regulated business opportunities, particularly in renewable energy and large-scale customer connections.

In this role you will;

  • Forge and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, facilitating collaborative efforts to achieve project objectives.
  • Strategically manage and monitor a portfolio of projects to optimize project delivery efficiency.
  • Interpret and communicate National Electricity Rules (Rules) and oversee the Regulatory Investment Test for Transmission (RIT-T) or alternative processes.
  • Collaborate with internal experts to understand project drivers and validate proposed solutions, encompassing both network and non-network alternatives.
  • Develop comprehensive project scopes and governance documentation, ensuring adherence to required standards and timely financial approvals.
  • Lead negotiations for feasible non-network solutions where applicable, effectively managing priorities and project variations.
  • Provide strategic guidance considering network security, outage constraints, and resourcing, and oversee project completion reviews and reporting.

You will have;

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent, complemented by extensive transmission network experience in project development or delivery roles.
  • Profound understanding and application of Queensland's power industry, especially in high voltage transmission networks and National Electricity Rules (RIT-T or RIT-D specifically).
  • Demonstrated expertise in senior roles within transmission network planning, design, project management, or construction, leveraging program and project management principles.
  • Capacity to anticipate and address industry trends and risks affecting project portfolios.
  • Proven ability to manage diverse stakeholders, engage with decision-makers, negotiate effectively, and resolve conflicts.
  • Experience in complex asset management frameworks, applying life cycle costing and commercial principles.
  • Strategic thinking, problem-solving skills, and adeptness in documenting issues within strategic contexts.
