Job Summary

We need you as a supportive leader who can provide fit for purpose solutions and services in the planning and delivery of large infrastructure project portfolios.

In this exciting Manager Projects opportunity you can expect: 

  • Significant upstream and downstream stakeholder and customer engagement at senior management level 
  • project delivery management in a high pressure commercial environment ensuring delivery on time and budget
  • managing a team of project professionals in the delivery of large, key infrastructure projects, ideally in the HV electricity industry

About the role

Powerlink is the QLD Transmission Network Service Provider and will play a vital role in new and exciting large infrastructure projects in Queensland.

To support these critical project deliverables we are looking for dynamic and proven Manager Projects to deliver a large and complex portfolio of high voltage infrastructure projects.

We need your strong people management skills to lead teams of project managers, project commissioning managers and construction resources to successfully plan, execute and commission Powerlink’s infrastructure delivery program of works.

About you

You have demonstrated success in similar Manager Projects roles managing large project teams in the end-to-end delivery of complex, infrastructure, engineering projects and managed customers and stakeholders upstream and downstream to deliver business critical project and commercial outcomes. 

You are a collaborative and engaging manager, with capabilities and experience in building, high- performing, project delivery teams in a matrix organisation, to achieve a balance between technical and commercial outcomes. 

Important for your success are:

  • Knowledge and experience in all aspects of program and project management; incl. defining delivery methodology, implementation, reporting and evaluation. 
  • Exceptional service to internal and external customers 
  • You will help mould the strategy and identify fit for purpose delivery solutions for the organisation.
  • Expert communication skills both verbal and written; you are engaging, high energy and committed to deliver against expectations and outcomes focused
  • Experience in delivering complex projects using earned value (EV) and fully resourced schedules in Microsoft
  • An in- depth understanding of the electricity Industry and delivery concepts to achieve positive outcomes for Powerlink.
  • Tertiary level qualifications in engineering or project management or significant leadership experience in program or project delivery of complex large scale infrastructure projects
