Ambulance Victoria (AV) is seeking an experienced accounting professional to manage the provision of a range of financial services within AV including budget development, forecasting, costing and pricing, finance partnering, projects and financial analysis.  This is a full-time, ongoing role located in Doncaster.

About the role

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the role is an integral position within the Finance and Corporate Services Division, as it plays a pivotal part in the development of AV's annual budget and forecasting, including developing strong working relationships and partnerships across the organisation.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing accurate, timely and quality advice and financial reports to the Chief Financial Officer, Chief Executive Officer and Managers across the organisation
  • Develop AV's Annual Operating and Capital Budgets
  • Developing and maintaining strong working relationships by providing comprehensive financial guidance and advice across the organisation
  • Providing strong and effective leadership by fostering a culture of professional development through coaching and mentoring staff

About you

To be considered, you will be CPA or ICAA qualified, and hold an appropriate tertiary qualification in business, accounting or commerce.  You will be experienced in the management and reporting of financial issues, including costing and conducting financial analysis in a large and complex organisation, preferably within government and or the health/emergency services sectors.  You will possess a solid working knowledge of relevant financial software tools and demonstrate proficiency in MS office suite; Excel and Outlook, including other relevant software applications.

Your well-developed conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills including a strong eye for detail, will enable you to identify issues and risks and determine appropriate courses of action.  Your resilience, drive and can-do attitude, together with your ability to work in a fluid, dynamic and agile environment will see you successfully deliver quality outcomes within the specified timeframes. 
Finally, your strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, will enable you to negotiate and influence, convey clear messages and build and maintain effective working relationships. You will be experienced in leading teams and having difficult conversations when required. You will hold a current Victorian Driver's Licence and be willing to travel throughout metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria, if required.

AV has introduced salary bands, and this position is graded at AV6.  The salary range for an AV6 position is $140,820 to $161,670pa plus 9.5% superannuation.  The expectation is that employees will commence at the base of the grade applicable to a position. The successful candidate will be required to undertake an Australian National Criminal Check and pre-employment checks.
