About the role

AV is seeking an experienced Manager, Infection Prevention and Control. This is a part time, fixed term position currently based in Blackburn North until February 2022.

Reporting to the Director Clinical Governance and Performance the responsibilities of this position will include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide subject matter expertise in infection prevention and control for the workforce
  • Develop and maintain the AV Infection Prevention and Control Plan
  •  Identify opportunities for quality improvement to meet the infection prevention and control standards of  the National Standards in Safety and Quality in Healthcare in the pre hospital setting
  • Advise and report on appropriate infection prevention and control risk management strategies
  • Champion practice that promotes health and wellbeing of staff, self and patients

About you

To be considered for this position you are required to have relevant tertiary qualifications and work experience in the area of Infection Prevention and Control; and professional certification/credentialing as an Infection Control Professional.

To be successful, you will be known for your expert understanding of infection prevention and control policy together with your demonstrated ability to develop organisation wide infection prevention and control strategies, policies, procedures and education programs.

You will be highly motivated and proactive in your capacity to work autonomously with the scope of the role and have a sound understanding of research, evaluation, quality improvement and project management.

The successful candidate must have a current Victorian Driver's License and be willing to travel throughout metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria when required.
