Advisor Human Resources 

 

Are you an experienced HR practitioner with a service excellence ethos?  Are you looking to shape a safe, capable, accountable and engaged workforce? The People & Culture Division of Ambulance Victoria is seeking a professional HR Advisor to provide support, advice and coaching to operational clients.  The position is based in Doncaster and is for a fixed term of 12 months. 

About the role

Reporting to the Senior People Partner, this fixed term role contributes to a broad range of People and Culture initiatives, and provides critical human resources advice and support services to the Metropolitan regions and our corporate divisions. 

You will be responsible for the integrated, consistent and effective delivery of HR services which typically relates to various workplace relations and performance management conversations.  You will identify continuous improvement opportunities in daily work and projects for HR practices and systems, complete factual analysis on HR measures and relevant expenditure, and champion diversity and EEO by advocating the value of diversity in HR practices. 

About you

To be considered for this role, you will hold a tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a related discipline and have proven experience working in a generalist or specialist HR role.   In addition, you will have working knowledge and application of HR practices, including the accurate interpretation of regulations and legislation, preferably across the public sector. 

You will be able to demonstrate the ability to adapt theoretical knowledge of current HR issues and lead implementation of change across a large, geographically disparate organisation.  A willingness to travel throughout Metropolitan Melbourne and Regional Victoria is a requirement. 

Using your excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage with different audiences, you will have the ability to build and foster relationships with stakeholders at all levels, and convey messages tactfully and with impact. 

You will also be known for your collaborative working style to ensure alignment and achievement of individual and team goals, coupled with your ability to positively manage changing and competing priorities.  Proactive problem solving skills and highly proficient use of Microsoft applications are essential.
