Queensland Rail Travel and Tourism has an exciting opportunity for a Manager Travel Network and Customer Interface to join their team based in our Brisbane CBD Office. This crucial role reports into the Executive General Manager Travel and Tourism and will be responsible for leading the Travel Network and Customer Interface team to deliver high performance outcomes from their business group and from key partners of Queensland Rail.

We are looking for an experienced operational leader who has a solid understanding of rail operations and its legislative requirements. You will have outstanding communication and internal and external stakeholder engagement skills with a strong commitment to safety.

About the role:

  • Provide leadership and direction around planning, scheduling and modelling operational requirements in order to meet the needs of customers
  • Lead the Travel Network and Customer Interface team in planning, developing and implementing a rollingstock strategy that ensures the Travel Network rollingstock assets perform at the level of expectation
  • Build and maintain effective employee and stakeholder relationships across the business in order to effectively coordinate the scheduling and operation of the Travel Network
  • Drive Travel Network performance to ensure that services run according to schedule and meet customer requirements
  • Provide logistics and supply expertise in the continuous review of the Travel Network rollingstock product/s and consider Rollingstock restrictions and limitations
  • Manage the contractual relationship with key partners, internal and external suppliers and customer of Queensland Rail
  • Lead and manage the development and implementation of the Travel Network Emergency Management Response in order to effectively and efficiently respond to crisis situations

About you:

  • High level of skill in developing and implementing operational strategies focused on building a high performing and customer-focused team
  • Extensive knowledge of Rail Operations interfaces (including track, rollingstock and logistics)
  • High level of skill in directing a team in developing and implementing appropriate frameworks, programs, policies and procedures
  • High level of conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills
  • High level of influencing, interpersonal, consultation, relationship building and negotiation skills that build and sustain productive relationships and partnerships
