OHS Manager

Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Cultural Heritage Aboriginal Corporation has an exciting opportunity available for an experienced ‘generalist’ OHS professional to join the busy team at our Abbotsford offices.  

This position will be responsible for:

• Ensuring compliance with OHS legislation and regulatory obligations for a diverse workforce of around 170 staff
• Health & Safety procedures, processes and policies 
• Management of incident reports, workers comp claims and return to work plans
• Conduct site visits to monitor, inspect and audit 
• Provide compliance training to staff
• Identify risks across all areas of the organisation, provide mitigation strategies

The successful candidate will hold:

• A strong track record in a similar senior, multi-site OHS role 
• Tertiary qualifications in OHS and some Occupational Hygienist experience 
• Current drivers license and own vehicle
• The ability to efficiently handle operational tasks as well as higher level requirements including Board reports and presentations, OHS strategy, policy writing, and navigation of complex OHS related employee issues
• Superior written and verbal communication, presentation and facilitation skills
• Some experience working with First Nations communities/people would be an advantage
