You will support the Executive Director of Medical Services to deliver safe, effective and efficient medical services across the Gawler and Barossa sites in the northern region of the Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network (BHFLHN). Supporting clinical services across the northern sites, you will provide leadership to medical staff across the hospitals and role model the requisite professional standards. You will address risk mitigation in the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of medical services. Areas of focus will include: clinical governance and clinical risk management; morbidity and mortality review; sentinel incident review; collection, review and action on hospital-wide and specific clinical indicators; and review of complaints. You will play a key role in supporting BHFLHN to establish and maintain a positive health and safety culture. This will be achieved by consulting with workers and others when making decisions that may impact upon the health, safety and welfare of those in the workplace.
Holding a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (BMBS) or an equivalent qualification, you will be registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration. You will have proven management experience in healthcare, including change management. You will also bring experience in the management of risk and increasing the effectiveness and accountability of risk management strategies. Strong communication and negotiation skills will be essential. You will demonstrate an ability to think strategically at a system-wide level and have an aptitude for engaging, motivating, building trust and inspiring others to achieve objectives.
