Working under the supervision of Head of Unit and senior consultant staff attached to the Urology Unit at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, you will be responsible for the managing the care of all patients allocated to you.
Operating in consultation with the responsible Consultants, Nurses and Allied Health professionals as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will be involved in the after-hours roster on a regular basis. You will also actively contribute to continuous quality improvement and continuous education activities, participate in the supervision and teaching of junior medical staff and medical students, and initiate and develop research projects. The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (TQEH) is a 311 bed, acute care teaching hospital that provides inpatient, outpatient, emergency and mental health services to a population of more than 250,000 people living primarily in Adelaide’s western suburbs. Emphasis is placed on continuity of care before and after hospitalisation and care is coordinated by a multidisciplinary team.
Holding a MBBS or equivalent degree which can be registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), you will have appropriate postgraduate experience in general urology, open urological surgery and endoscopic urological surgery. Demonstrating competency in range of routine and common procedural ward-based skills, you will be confident in problem solving and decision making at both the clinical and the individual level. With the ability to work as a team member and individually, you will work well under pressure without compromising patient care.
