You will provide strategic and operational leadership, governance, and direction for the nursing/midwifery services at Port Pirie Hospital and Hammill House Aged Care. The focus of your role will be on development and implementation of frameworks and systems within which nursing/midwifery employees practice, and on monitoring and evaluating clinical practice and service delivery standards. You will accept accountability for the governance and practice standards of nurses/midwives, the development and effectiveness of systems to support, evaluate and consistently improve nursing/midwifery practice and healthy work environments, and the cost effective provision of health services within your span of control. As an expert manager practicing at an advanced level, you will have an extended scope of practice with a high degree of autonomous decision making. Port Pirie Hospital and Health Services is part of the Yorke & Northern Local Health Network. 

You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse/Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. With substantial senior experience/responsibility in management including personnel, finance and strategic planning and leadership, you will possess effective management skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation. These skills will equip you to foster a work environment that develops staff potential and facilitates creativity and innovation.
