Associate Nurse Unit Manager - Michael Rice Haematology/Oncology Centre

Thriving in a dynamic and challenging healthcare environment, you will be responsible for high quality clinical service provision in the Division of Paediatric Medicine at the Women's and Children's Hospital. Working within family focused models of care delivery; consumer and community engagement, you will ensure comprehensive client and family centred care. Stepping into a key leadership position, you will provide leadership and contribute to the nursing/midwifery services for the ward/clinic to attain consistency of practice standards and local service outcomes. You will be accountable for own practice standards, activities delegated to others and the guidance and development of less experienced staff. You will assist in developing and maintaining a learning culture and support change management processes, as well as actively participate in quality management, quality assurance, evaluative research activities and risk management activities and ongoing improvement of services.
Registered as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, you will hold a current practising certificate. Your post registration experience will encompass demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing/midwifery practice and supports Nursing Service Directors in management, clinical and education activities. You will display a strong commitment to providing quality service to clients, reflecting excellent communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills. Able to work effectively and efficiently within a multidisciplinary team, you will lead and motivate staff to achieve positive outcomes. While not essential, previous paediatric experience will be an advantage that will set you above the competition.
