The Royal Adelaide Hospital is South Australia’s largest trauma hospital, and offers a diverse complex clinical presentation and supportive work environment. With the opportunity to be actively involved in a wide range of imaging procedures performed in the Ultrasound Department, you will be responsible for the provision of Ultrasound procedures using specialised equipment to perform complex medical imaging examinations for clients across a range of clinical specialities with a high level of professional independence. You will contribute to clinical outcomes by providing services that form the basis of patient diagnosis and subsequent treatment and management by radiologists, referring clinicians and surgeons. Acting as a positive role model, you will mentor and train staff at all levels of knowledge to include safety, physics and imaging principles and hardware as assigned by the Head Sonographer. To succeed in this integral role, you must hold appropriate Ultrasound post graduate qualifications, and be registered as an Accredited Medical Sonographer as administered by the Australasian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR). You will have the demonstrated ability to perform a wide range of Ultrasound imaging procedures, including specialised and complex procedures. Able to use significant initiative to analyse situations and identify opportunities and needs to develop and progress, you will possess a detailed knowledge of all standard and complex professional tasks in the application of established Ultrasound work practices and procedures. A team player who can work effectively within a team setting or individually with a high level of independence, you will bring the ability to interact positively and work with all levels of departmental and organisational staff.
