This is a unique leadership opportunity in one of South Australia’s largest ICT departments, with the scope to directly support improved healthcare outcomes for patients of SA Health. As the Director Application Services, you will have executive responsibility for directing all enterprise application functions across the SA Health portfolio, encompassing enterprise clinical applications, corporate business systems, application development and integration. This will include full accountability for resource management, financial control and delivering services to meet KPIs across the state-wide health service. You will lead initiatives to consolidate and standardise diverse application development, integration, and support functions across SA Health, continuously improving service provision, maturity and efficiency. You will also work to develop long term enterprise applications road maps and management plans, consistent with overall eHealth Systems strategy and manage their implementation. Working as a member of a dynamic executive team reporting to the CIO, you will play a central role in the successful delivery of enterprise health systems that hospitals depend on. You will be at the forefront of ICT’s relationship with senior executives across SA Health, and be held accountable by them for the successful delivery of applications across the state.

A relevant degree or certifications in Information Technology or a relevant discipline is highly desirable, along with relevant postgraduate qualifications. You will possess extensive experience managing the delivery and support of enterprise scale applications, directing the work of multiple teams in large complex organisations. Naturally, you will be highly influential and capable of directing the successful delivery of multiple change initiatives with complex interdependencies and risk profiles through to completion. You will also demonstrate the commercial acumen required to direct the management of multiple high value service contracts with external partners. Finally, you will have the expertise to make a significant contribution to the development of SA Health’s ICT Strategy, pertaining to corporate applications, shaping the development of eHealth services into the future.
