In this influential and rewarding role, you will be responsible for clinical governance and professional leadership of Psychology Services across the Northern Mental Health Service. Ensuring evidence-based, best practice standards are achieved in psychology service delivery, you will contribute to the strategic direction and development of Mental Health Services as part of the leadership team. This will involve leading and supporting the development of the Psychology workforce through implementation of supervision frameworks, developing and supporting opportunities for training, and providing strategic advice and input on recruitment and retention. You will play a pivotal role in developing networks and collaborative peer support relationships with other clinical leads across Mental Health to maximise coordination, role effectiveness, and promote consistency in Psychology workforce standards and service development initiatives. As part of your role, you will also maintain a clinical caseload commensurate with Principal Psychologist responsibilities, and provide expert advice on the appropriate management of complex and challenging cases.
You will hold an appropriate degree or equivalent qualification recognised by the PsyBA and have general registration with PsyBA and an endorsed area of practice in Clinical Psychology, Clinical Neuropsychology or Forensic Psychology. This will be complemented by extensive experience in clinical leadership and the facilitation of service planning to ensure clinical best practice underpins the development of mental health services. Having worked before with people who have a severe mental illness, you will be proficient in the collaborative development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of planned interventions for consumers with high or complex needs.
